Paul-Lucien Kulka

French flutist Paul-Lucien Kulka, arranger and adapter of new music for the flute trio, was a member of the French National Police Orchestra before moving to New York in 2019. His musical education began at the age of 6 in Saint-Raphaël, France, and he entered the Nice Conservatory at age 14 where he was awarded a 1st Prize Gold Medal in 1979. The following year, Paul won the Prize for the town of Nice, and went on to study at the Regional Conservatory of Lyon, where he received the Lyon Regional Conservatory's Gold Medal upon his graduation in 1982. He also studied with Alain Marion in the Nice Summer Music Academia and with Christian Lardé at the Paris Music Academia.

Paul moved to Paris upon winning the seat in the prestigious French National Police Orchestra, with whom he toured Japan and Morroco. Playing flute and piccolo, he also performed with The RATP Orchestra (Subway Orchestra of Paris), the Synaxis Orchestra (Vienne, France) in Rousse, Bulgaria, and as a soloist with a variety of other ensembles. Mr. Kulka was a music educator in the Lyon and Paris areas.

Since relocating to New York in 2019, Paul has played with Lehman College & Community Concert Band, Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra, Brooklyn Wind Symphony, New Westchester Symphony, Westchester Chamber Soloists and the Flute Choir of New York.
