April Klavins

April Klavins earned her Bachelor's degree in Music from California State University Northridge as a student of David Shostac. Ms. Klavins continued her studies with Isabelle Chapuis and Llyod Gowan, was selected to attend summer programs with Julius Baker and Ransom Wilson at Hidden Valley Carmel, and with Trevor Wye at the Académie  de Musique à Sion.

Ms. Klavins was a long-time member of the Palo Alto Philharmonic, and toured Korea and Japan with the Fresno State Wind Ensemble. In addition, she has performed with many ensembles in both California and New York, including the Bay Shore Lyric Opera, Oakland Lyric Opera, Ohlone Symphony, South Bay Chamber Ensemble, Taconic Opera Orchestra, Northern Westchester Symphony Orchestra, Flute Choir of New York, and has soloed with the Foothill Wind Symphony and Cortland Chamber Orchestra.

During the past summer, she performed in the Czech Republic and Germany as a member of the Southerland Winds.
